Part time opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Nurse, to work in a clinic setting within Immigration Detention Centre.

The Role

Part time opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Nurse, to work in a clinic setting within the Villawood Immigration Detention Centre. Key responsibilities:

  • Provide a high standard of clinical care  pertaining to mental health care
  • Initiates appropriate treatment and referral in emergency situations
  • Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Management of patients on mental health medications
  • Administration of medications
  • Conducting health promotional activities

Prerequisites

  • Current AHPRA Registration as a Div. 1 Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Mental Health Nursing
  • Advanced clinical assessment, care planning and crisis management skills
  • Current First Aid and/or CPR certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Current Federal Police Check or willingness to obtain
