The Role

In this role, you will exercise and deliver clinical leadership, participate in ongoing development and review of local drug and alcohol services including processes and procedures delivered by the IHMS Drug and Alcohol team on site located in Northam, WA. Key Responsibilities: 

  • Possess advanced knowledge and clinical experience in D&A related treatment services, including experience in managing patients with chronic and/or complex health needs
  • Lead and manage a team of multidisciplinary D&A clinicians in delivering services.
  • Provide clinical resource and specialist support and liaison at a local level on all matters relating to D&A treatment/management and services
  • Provide leadership in site-based D&A related clinical case review meetings, in collaboration with medical input
  • Lead and guide, in collaboration with other medical staff in the assessment and management of D&A related pharmacotherapies, withdrawal, intoxication, and overdose states
  • Provide advice and education to nursing and other allied health professionals

Requirements

  • Current APHRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
  • A minimum of 3 years working with persons with substance use issues or in a D&A setting
  • Live in Australia and have full working rights in Australia
  • Postgraduate qualifications in D&A and/or other relevant area
  • Experience holding a leadership and management role in a Drug and Alcohol Service/setting - desirable
  • Be familiar with opioid pharmacotherapy and willingness to learn/be familiar with local jurisdictional opioid dependence treatment procedures
  • Accreditation or willingness to obtain SMART Recovery group facilitator accreditation
  • Current First Aid/BLS certificate or willingness to obtain
