About the role

Work away from a hospital environment
As part of supporting clients within the Australian Immigration Detention Network, the role would cover case management and telehealth where you can:
- Apply acquired clinical nursing skills into a different healthcare environment to manage diverse acute and chronic medical conditions
- Analyze, assess and review relevant medical records using your triage skills to identify and act on urgent medical cases.
Key responsibilities
- Answer incoming telephone calls and responds to queries and requests pertaining to the healthcare management of clients within scope of role.
- Coordinate healthcare service of the highest quality and prioritizing safety on the basis of clinical need.
- Complete accurate reporting and documentation of each call (including the recommendation(s) made as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure continuity of service delivery by answering all requests for assistance in a timely and professional manner.
- Escalate Medical and Procedural issues concisely and efficiently to the appropriate point of escalation for issues that are out of scope of guidelines or professional limitations.
- Review clients' medical records and provide relevant medical history to hospitals/ health facilities after hours.
- Triage client conditions in a clinically appropriate and timely manner.
- Handover and document outcomes of calls to the appropriate stakeholders
About you

Unconditional AHPRA License as a Registered Nurse

Minimum of 3 years clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting

Excellent written, interpersonal and oral communication skills

Computer literate with a good knowledge of MS Word, Outlook and have experience with using patient record systems

Hold working full working rights. (working holiday visa applicants are considered).
Working Structure
- 24/7 rotating roster
- 12 hour shifts; night shifts 7pm to 7am
- Weekend Shift (7AM to 7PM or 7PM to 7AM)
- 8 week roster planned and organized minimum of 2 weeks in advance.
- Paid training period of 4-6 weeks
- Max Term Part-Time until 10 December 2024
