IHMS is seeking experienced Mental Health Nurses to deliver and maintain mental health support services to Detainees and Transferees at Quarantine Facilities and Centers.

The Role

You will be providing mental health support services for people residing in Quarantine Medical Centre Facilities in Immigration Detention at Sydney, NSW. The main responsibilities are:

  • To ensure that health care is delivered within the Immigration Detention Medical Centers to all Persons in accordance with Standards for Medical Facilities
  • Deliver evidence-based, contemporary mental health services to persons in detention through assessment
  • Contribute to the effective multidisciplinary health management of detainees and transferees
  • Administer medications as prescribed and/or in accordance with practice guidelines and nurse initiated medication guidelines.
  • Ensure that documentation is accurate, precise and concise

To be successful you will have

  • Current AHPRA Registration as a Mental Health Nurse
  • Minimum 3 years proven experience in Mental health Nursing
  • Advanced clinical assessment and management skills
  • Current First Aid or BLS certification
  • Eligible to apply for an AFP Clearance
