About the role

Work away from a hospital environment

As part of supporting clients within the Australian Immigration Detention Network, the role would cover case management and telehealth where you can:

Apply acquired clinical nursing skills into a different healthcare environment to manage diverse acute and chronic medical conditions
Analyze, assess and review relevant medical records using your triage skills to identify and act on urgent medical cases.

Answer incoming telephone calls and responds to queries and requests pertaining to the healthcare management of clients within scope of role.
Coordinate healthcare service of the highest quality and prioritizing safety on the basis of clinical need.
Complete accurate reporting and documentation of each call (including the recommendation(s) made as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures.
Ensure continuity of service delivery by answering all requests for assistance in a timely and professional manner.
Escalate Medical and Procedural issues concisely and efficiently to the appropriate point of escalation for issues that are out of scope of guidelines or professional limitations.
Review clients' medical records and provide relevant medical history to hospitals/ health facilities after hours.
Triage client conditions in a clinically appropriate and timely manner.
Handover and document outcomes of calls to the appropriate stakeholders

Unconditional AHPRA License as a Registered Nurse
Minimum of 3 years clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting
Excellent written, interpersonal and oral communication skills
Computer literate with a good knowledge of MS Word, Outlook and have experience with using patient record systems
Hold working full working rights. (working holiday visa applicants are considered).
