Lead a team of skilled mental health professionals to deliver effective mental health care to clients in a motivated and cohesive environment.

The Role

The Mental Health Team Leader will deliver high-quality care at an Immigration Detention Centre clinic. Key Tasks:

  • Provide leadership and clinical oversight for the mental health team, promoting best practices and high-quality care
  • Identify and assess at-risk people, ensuring timely and effective management of mental health needs
  • Act as the primary contact point for mental health services, coordinating resources and care
  • Ensure all services adhere to the highest standards of mental health practice and regulatory compliance
  • Provide reports to the Health Services Manager and engage with stakeholders and other healthcare providers as needed

Requirements

  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Current AHPRA registration with full working rights in Australia
  • Minimum of 5 years’ post-graduate experience in mental health; experience in corrections or detention settings is desirable
  • Strong communication skills and experience working within a multidisciplinary team, along with advanced clinical assessment and crisis management abilities
  • Basic Life Support or First Aid certification and a current Federal Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and MS Office applications
