Unique opportunity for experienced General Practitioner to work with IHMS at an offshore facility and enhance their skills in a challenging and rewarding environment.  


In this role, you will exercise and deliver primary health care services to the people residing in the Immigration Detention Centre. Key responsibilities:

  • To assess, diagnose and treat clients at the General Practice level
  • Provide advice and education to nurses and allied health professionals
  • Liaise with all parties involved in the medical management of clients
  • Ensure accuracy and maintenance of all medical records and compliance with professional standards


To Be Considered You Must Have:

  • Fellowship of the RACGP or FACCRM
  • Full unconditional registration with AHPRA as a general Medical Practitioner.
  • Primary Care experience essential with experience in rural/remote setting and/or emergency care highly desirable, alternatively we will consider a medical officer with an interest in remote work.
  • Live in Australia or New Zealand and have work rights in Australia
  • Current Advanced Life Support Certificate (or willing to obtain)
