Unique opportunity for a General Practitioner to use and enhance their skills in a challenging and rewarding environment. 

The Role

In this role you will be responsible to assess, diagnose and treat clients in immigration detention at the general practice level. The other key responsibilities are:

  • Provide immediate assessment, diagnosis and treatment of clients in Immigration Detention in an emergency situation
  • Provide advice and education to nurses and allied health professionals as necessary or as requested.
  • Liaise with all parties involved in the medical management of clients in Immigration Detention.
  • Ensure accuracy and maintenance of all medical records and compliance with professional standards.

You

  • Full unconditional registration with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner;
  • Fellowship of the RACGP is desirable
  • Significant experience in General Practice or equivalent
  • Experience with computerised medical records and medical practice systems is highly desirable
  • Have full working rights in Australia
  • Current First Aid or BLS certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Current Federal Police Check or willingness to obtain
