The Role

IHMS is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (Drug & Alcohol) for a Full-time contract for their clinic at Broadmeadows. You will be managing and leading a recovery program for clients identified with substance and alcohol dependencies.

The primary function of this role is to facilitate safe handover and ongoing follow-up of all those identified with D&A concerns and to ensure screening is in place for all those admitted to detention health facilities.


  • Current AHPRA Registration as a Div. 1 Registered Nurse
  • Minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience working with people with drug and alcohol dependency issues; with a focus on opiate substitution programs
  • Advanced clinical assessment skills and management of alcohol and drug issues
  • Good knowledge of Self-Harm Minimisation principles
  • Previous experience managing and leading a recovery program
  • Current BLS or First Aid certificate
