Payroll Assistant


The Payroll Assistant is responsible for assisting the payroll department in performing tasks such as maintaining accurate employee records, calculating and processing payroll checks, and responding to employee inquiries.
 

Key Responsibilities:
 

Provide direct support within the payroll department to ensure all employees are compensated on time while maintaining integrity within the payroll system and compliance with legally mandated payroll practices.

Maintain the country specific payroll email inboxes through responding to and addressing any incoming payroll inquiry.

Ensure payroll data is captured & recorded accurately through our payroll software systems for payment to the employees.

Perform & participate in routine audits on payroll data to maximize efficiency reduce risk and maintain the integrity of our Company’s payroll practices.

Perform Monthly Reconciliation for Benefits in Both USA and Canada.

Prepare and generate payroll-related reports as required.

Work to resolve any payroll discrepancies in payments as a matter.

Process formalities for new hires and separations. Assists with other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Knowledge:
 

Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster long-term relationships (with internal teams, external partners, clients, and candidates).

Strong background in interpersonal judgement with an ability to operate in a logical way - comfortable with managing complexity and ambiguity.

Strength in data & analytics and the ability to transition complex information into action.

Ability to approach work with the highest level of confidentiality and sensitivity.

Demonstrated ability to achieve results within a fast moving and sometimes changing environment.

Ability to use good judgment and maintain absolute confidentiality.

Basic understanding of applicable policies and federal, state, provincial and local payroll laws and regulations in US & Canada.

Proficient use of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook & Teams).

Required Work Experience:
 

Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a customer service or administrative role.

Proven track record of adherence to ethnical guidelines, including confidentiality.

Familiarity with Payroll Software systems a plus.

Required Qualifications:
 

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required

Required Languages:
 

English

Travel / Schedule / Rotation Requirements:
 

Full-time work from home position

Monday – Friday 8am EST – 5pm EST.

Less than 5% travel, if needed for business reasons.
